A refreshed ‘My Apps’ screen will make it easier to manage everything you have installed.

Google has reportedly started rolling out a revamped version of the ‘My Apps & Games section’ on its Play Store. The new interface aims to make it simpler for users to manage their apps. The feature is currently not available for all Android users, and Google is slowly rolling it out in phases.

The new interface offers more options to organize your apps based on size, alphabetical order, last used, and last updated. The refreshed design also gives you an account of how many apps you have, and the ‘Updates’ tab next to every app will now tell you the last time that each app was updated. There’s also an ‘Installed’ tab that will tell you the last time that you used each app along with the size of each app or app update. Another advantage of this update is that users can check for updates instead of having to leave the Play Store, and launch the app again. The update also makes the icons on ‘My apps & games’ section smaller, which is a boon for smartphones with smaller screens. It also helps Google fit more apps in the limited screen space, and the user gets more information about the app.

The update has also renamed the ‘All tabs’ section to Library. This section displays the apps that are installed on your other Android devices, and synced with your Google account. Further, it also makes it easy for users to download those apps on their current devices. All you need to do is tap on the install button and accept the terms and conditions.

Talking about the Play Store updates, Google had recently added a news section categorized as ‘Free app of the week’. The section would have a new app listed under it, and for those seven days, the paid app will be available to download for free. However, some reports doing the round suggests that now, when checking the Play Store, it appears that Google has removed the free section and it is no longer available for users.

According to recent report, Android is soon expected to outpace Apple because Android devices outnumber iOS devices by about a 5:1 ratio worldwide. And so, Google Play Store is expected to top Apple’s App Store in revenue with $41 billion this year.
